WARRANTIES & COMPLAINTS

Hammerglass® is a silica-coated polymer product – 300 times stronger than glass. Surface coating provides UV, chemical and abrasion resistance. The Hammerglass sheets are flat and come in standard thicknesses of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 mm. Other thicknesses are also possible. The sheets can be hot-rolled, cold-bent, laminated, edge-polished and more. Hammerglass sheets are extruded by rolling liquid plastic granulate to the right thickness and then cooling it at room temperature. Black soot stains from the heating, dust particles, unevenness and rolling defects may occur, but should be sorted out in production control. Hammerglass AB has established levels for permitted variation in thickness, permitted black dot size and maximum distortion level (dioptre level). After extrusion, the sheets are coated with a double-sided Hammerglass coating, and further quality control is performed. Faults in the sheets might nonetheless occur. The purpose of this document is to set out guidelines for the quality assessment of products and the handling of complaints. The guidelines are based on the assessment of flat glass, described in EN 572.

Dimension specifications: In dimension specifications, the outer dimensions of the glass shall be given as Width*Height, expressed in millimetres.
